OBERTAUERN 2016: FINAL DAYS & DEPARTING THOUGHTS

We hit the slopes one last time on the final day and skied until our legs were made of jello. After a quick rest, it was time to prepare for the last events of the week. Everyone slipped into their dirndls, lederhosen, snow gear and snowshoes in order to head up the mountain for the closing party. It turned out to be quite the adventure as a blanket of thick clouds descended upon us. While the fog may have made the hike slightly more challenging, it made the beer at the end of it that much tastier.

On a personal note, I hope you’ve enjoyed these blogs: a medley of sorts of moments remembered, pieced back together, enjoyed and probably embellished. Some may call it gloating, but I’ll be honest with myself and call it like I see it. That is, being swept up in everything and everyone that make each and every day on The Ski Week so amazing. There were few fleeting moments to slow down and so it has been great looking back with the 20/20 lens of hindsight and remember the fun times, failed attempts and experiences I never thought would come in my wildest dreams.

Lastly, to all the legends that joined me this week - cheers boys and girls, cheers!

My writing has definitely not listed all of the events that went down throughout the week, so be sure to check out the Facebook album full of little gems of visual delectability - courtesy of our incredible photographer, Max Lander! (Instagram: @maxtagramz)

Also, keep an eye out for what is sure to be an insane aftermovie by the extraordinary Sam Evans (Instagram: @samevanslife). I can say with full confidence that this flick is going to melt some faces, blow some minds, and maybe even ruin a few lives. We can only hope.

And to everyone who didn’t do The Ski Week this year. We’ll see you next season, right? Right.static1.squarespace-7
